HSK 1 Adverbs
都
The adverb 都 (all, both)
Structure (group) + 都 + Verb
都 (dōu) means "all/both" and always points BACK to what comes before it, not after. So it goes after the group it refers to and before the verb: 我们都是学生 ("we are all students"). With negation, position changes the meaning: 都不 = "none" (all not), 不都 = "not all".
