How many words are in HSK 3.0?
The official standard (GF 0025-2021) totals 11,092 words across 9 levels. Here you'll see them as 11,323 entries, because words with more than one reading are split into one entry per reading.
What does the “HSK 2.0” tag next to some words mean?
That the word was also in the old system's lists (2010), and at which level. The two systems' levels don't map onto each other, so we show both tags and never convert levels by eye.
Where does the meaning of each word come from?
It's the same gloss the Wanyu app uses: it starts from the free CC-CEDICT dictionary and goes through several reviews (pinyin syllable by syllable, levels, and words with more than one reading).
