HSK 1 Questions

The particle 呢 (and…? / where…?)

Structure Noun + 呢?

呢 (ne) has two very handy uses. First, bouncing a question back without repeating it: 我很好,你呢? ("I’m fine, and you?"). Second, asking where something is: 我的书呢? ("where’s my book?"). It’s short and very common in conversation.

Examples

  • hěnhǎone

    I’m fine, and you?

  • deshūne

    Where’s my book?

  • lǎoshīne

    Where’s the teacher?

Levels are indicative: they follow the standard Chinese Grammar Wiki (AllSet Learning) progression, not an official HSK 3.0 mapping. We never assign levels by eye.
