The particle 呢 (and…? / where…?)

Structure Noun + 呢？

呢 (ne) has two very handy uses. First, bouncing a question back without repeating it: 我很好，你呢？ ("I’m fine, and you?"). Second, asking where something is: 我的书呢？ ("where’s my book?"). It’s short and very common in conversation.

Examples

我wǒ很hěn好hǎo，你nǐ呢ne？
I’m fine, and you?
我wǒ的de书shū呢ne？
Where’s my book?
老lǎo师shī呢ne？
Where’s the teacher?
