Yes/no questions with 吗

Structure Affirmative sentence + 吗？

The easiest way to ask: take a normal statement and add 吗 (ma) at the end. 你是学生 → 你是学生吗？ The word order does not change. 吗 is only for yes/no questions; it does NOT combine with question words like 什么 or 谁 (those already ask on their own).

Examples

你nǐ好hǎo吗ma？
How are you?
你nǐ是shì学xué生shēng吗ma？
Are you a student?
他tā在zài家jiā吗ma？
Is he home?
