HSK 1 Numbers & measure words

一 二 三 … 十

Numbers (and 两 vs 二)

Structure 十 = 10 · 二十 = 20 · 二十一 = 21

One to ten: 一 二 三 四 五 六 七 八 九 十. After that you combine them: 十一 (11), 二十 (20), 二十一 (21), 一百 (100). Zero is 零. There are TWO words for "two": 二 (èr) is the digit (when counting, in 二十, in dates) and 两 (liǎng) is "two of something", used before a measure word: 两个人 (two people), not 二个人.

Examples

  • xiànzàiliǎngdiǎn

  • èrshísuì

Levels are indicative: they follow the standard Chinese Grammar Wiki (AllSet Learning) progression, not an official HSK 3.0 mapping. We never assign levels by eye.
