HSK 3 Prepositions (coverbs)

跟 … 一起

With (someone) with 跟

Structure Subject + 跟 + person + (一起) + Verb

跟 (gēn) introduces the person you do something with: 我跟你一起去 = "I’ll go with you". It’s often paired with 一起 ("together"). It goes before the verb. 跟 also means "and" (like 和) when joining nouns, and appears in 跟…一样. 和 can replace it here.

Examples

  • gēn

    I’ll go with you.

  • gēnpéngyouchīfàn

    He eats with friends.

  • gēnlái

    Come with me.

Levels are indicative: they follow the standard Chinese Grammar Wiki (AllSet Learning) progression, not an official HSK 3.0 mapping. We never assign levels by eye.
