Not as… as with 没有

Structure A + 没有 + B + (那么) + adjective

The natural way to negate a comparison is NOT 不比, but 没有: A 没有 B (那么) + adjective = "A is not as… as B". 今天没有昨天热 = "today isn’t as hot as yesterday". The 那么 ("that/so") is optional and adds emphasis. It’s the negative counterpart of 比.

Examples

今jīn天tiān没méi有yǒu昨zuó天tiān热rè。
Today isn’t as hot as yesterday.
我wǒ没méi有yǒu他tā高gāo。
I’m not as tall as him.
这zhè个ge没méi有yǒu那nà个ge那nà么me贵guì。
This one isn’t as expensive as that one.
