Toward (direction) with 往

Structure 往 + direction + Verb of motion

往 (wǎng) marks the direction of a movement: 往前走 = "go forward"; 往左拐 = "turn left". It goes before the verb, with a direction or reference point (前/后/左/右/里/外…). Very handy for giving directions.

Examples

一yī直zhí往wǎng前qián走zǒu。
Keep going straight ahead.
往wǎng左zuǒ拐guǎi。
Turn left.
请qǐng往wǎng里lǐ走zǒu。
Please move inside.
