Again (past) with 又

Structure 又 + Verb + 了

又 (yòu) is "again" for something that HAS already happened again: 他又迟到了 = "he was late again". It’s the partner of 再 (a repetition yet to come): 又 looks at the realized past, 再 at the future. 又 often closes with 了. It also appears in 又…又… ("both… and…").

Examples

他tā又yòu迟chí到dào了le。
He was late again.
你nǐ怎zěn么me又yòu来lái了le？
How come you’re here again?
今jīn天tiān又yòu下xià雨yǔ了le。
It rained again today.
