While / taking the chance with 趁

Structure 趁 + (moment or chance) + action

趁 (chèn) introduces the moment or chance worth SEIZING: "while…, taking advantage of…". 趁热吃吧 = "eat it while it’s hot"; 趁现在有时间，多学点儿 = "while you have time now, study more". It goes before the action that seizes the chance.

Examples

趁chèn热rè吃chī吧ba。
Eat it while it’s hot.
趁chèn现xiàn在zài有yǒu时shí间jiān，多duō学xué点diǎn儿r。
While you have time now, study a bit more.
趁chèn年nián轻qīng多duō努nǔ力lì。
Work hard while you’re young.
