Structure 简直 + exaggerated statement

简直 (jiǎnzhí) is used for emphatic exaggeration: "it’s simply…", "downright…". It flags that something reaches an almost unbelievable extreme: 这里的风景简直太美了 = "the scenery here is simply gorgeous". It often goes with 太…了, 像…一样 or a strong comparison. It conveys the speaker’s reaction, not an objective fact.

Examples

这zhè里lǐ的de风fēng景jǐng简jiǎn直zhí太tài美měi了le。
The scenery here is simply gorgeous.
他tā跑pǎo得de简jiǎn直zhí像xiàng风fēng一yī样yàng快kuài。
He runs so fast he’s practically like the wind.
这zhè个ge消xiāo息xi简jiǎn直zhí让ràng人rén不bù敢gǎn相xiāng信xìn。
