Anyway / in any case (反正)

Structure 反正 + firm conclusion (whatever happens)

反正 (fǎnzhèng) says "never mind all that; the point is…": the conclusion won’t change. 不管你说什么，反正我不去 = "whatever you say, I’m not going anyway". It also plays things down: 别着急，反正还有时间 = "don’t worry, there’s plenty of time anyway". It marks a firm or reassuring stance regardless of the situation.

Examples

不bù管guǎn你nǐ说shuō什shén么me，反fǎn正zhèng我wǒ不bù去qù。
Whatever you say, I’m not going anyway.
别bié着zháo急jí，反fǎn正zhèng还hái有yǒu时shí间jiān。
Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time anyway.
反fǎn正zhèng都dōu要yào做zuò，早zǎo点diǎn开kāi始shǐ吧ba。
We have to do it anyway, so let’s start early.
