Comparing with 比

Structure A + 比 + B + adjective

To say A is "more… than" B you use 比 (bǐ): A 比 B + adjective. 我比你高 = "I’m taller than you". NOTE: the adjective stands ALONE, with no 很 (很 drops in comparisons) and no "more" in front. To say by how much, the amount goes AFTER: 我比你大两岁 ("I’m two years older than you"). It is negated with 没有 (another point), not 不比.

    It’s hotter today than yesterday.

    He’s two years older than me.
