HSK 2 Adverbs

Don’t with 别

Structure 别 + Verb

别 (bié) before the verb makes the negative command: "don’t (do it)". 别走 = "don’t go". It’s the short, natural version of 不要 to forbid or ask someone not to do something. It’s often closed with 了 to soften: 别担心了 = "come on, don’t worry".

Examples

  • biézǒu

    Don’t go.

  • biédānxīn

    Don’t worry.

  • shàngbiéshuōhuà

    Don’t talk during class.

Levels are indicative: they follow the standard Chinese Grammar Wiki (AllSet Learning) progression, not an official HSK 3.0 mapping. We never assign levels by eye.
