HSK 2 Verbal aspect (了 · 过 · 着 · 在)
动词 + 过
Experience with 过
Structure Verb + 过 (+ object)
过 (guo) after the verb marks an EXPERIENCE: that something has been done "at some point" in life. 我去过中国 = "I’ve been to China (at some point)". It differs from 了 (a specific, completed action): 过 looks at accumulated experience. Negate with 没(有) and KEEP the 过: 我没去过.
