Still / yet with 还

Structure 还 + Verb · 还没(有) + Verb

还 (hái) means "still / yet": 他还在睡觉 = "he’s still sleeping". With negation it forms 还没(有) = "not yet": 我还没吃饭 = "I haven’t eaten yet". It can also add on ("also/more"): 我还要一杯茶 = "I also want a tea". It goes before the verb.

Examples

  • háizàishuìjiào

    He’s still sleeping.

  • háiméichīfàn

    I haven’t eaten yet.

  • háiyàobiédema

    Do you want anything else?
