HSK 2 Adverbs

已经 … 了

Already with 已经…了

Structure 已经 + … + 了

已经 (yǐjīng) means "already" and almost always closes the sentence with 了, since both refer to something that has happened or changed: 我已经吃了 = "I’ve already eaten". 已经 goes before the verb; 了 at the end. For "not yet" you use 还没(有), not a negation of 已经.

Examples

  • jīngchīle

    I’ve already eaten.

  • jīngzǒule

    He’s already left.

  • jīngshídiǎnle

    It’s already ten o’clock.

Levels are indicative: they follow the standard Chinese Grammar Wiki (AllSet Learning) progression, not an official HSK 3.0 mapping. We never assign levels by eye.
