Or in questions with 还是

Structure A + 还是 + B？

To ask "A or B?" (choosing between two) you use 还是 (háishi): 你喝茶还是咖啡？ It’s the "or" used ONLY in choice questions. In statements, "or" is 或者 (another point). Don’t add 吗 to these questions: 还是 already marks them.

Examples

你nǐ喝hē茶chá还hái是shi咖kā啡fēi？
Do you want tea or coffee?
你nǐ去qù还hái是shi不bù去qù？
Are you going or not?
今jīn天tiān走zǒu还hái是shi明míng天tiān走zǒu？
Do we leave today or tomorrow?
