Or in statements with 或者

Structure A + 或者 + B

或者 (huòzhě) is "or" in NON-question sentences: 喝茶或者咖啡都可以 = "tea or coffee, either is fine". It offers an alternative or an open option. Remember the split with 还是: 或者 for statements, 还是 for choice questions.

Examples

喝hē茶chá或huò者zhě咖kā啡fēi都dōu可kě以yǐ。
Tea or coffee, either is fine.
你nǐ或huò者zhě我wǒ去qù都dōu行xíng。
You or I can go, it’s fine.
晚wǎn上shàng我wǒ看kàn书shū或huò者zhě看kàn电diàn影yǐng。
In the evening I read or watch a movie.
