More and more with 越来越 / 越…越…

Structure 越来越 + adjective · 越 + A + 越 + B

越来越 + adjective means "more and more…": 天气越来越热 = "it’s getting hotter and hotter". And 越 A 越 B links two changes in parallel: "the more A, the more B": 雨越下越大 = "the more it rains, the harder it falls". Two sibling patterns for progression.

Examples

天tiān气qì越yuè来lái越yuè热rè。
The weather is getting hotter and hotter.
我wǒ越yuè来lái越yuè喜xǐ欢huan中zhōng文wén。
I like Chinese more and more.
雨yǔ越yuè下xià越yuè大dà。
The more it rains, the harder it pours.
