If… with …的话

Structure (如果) + condition + 的话，+ result

…的话 (de huà) closes a condition at the END, meaning "if…": 有问题的话，可以问我 = "if you have questions, you can ask me". It often pairs with 如果 (如果…的话), framing the condition front and back. Very colloquial, and it softens the supposition.

Examples

有yǒu问wèn题tí的de话huà，可kě以yǐ问wèn我wǒ。
If you have questions, you can ask me.
你nǐ去qù的de话huà，我wǒ也yě去qù。
If you go, I’ll go too.
不bù喜xǐ欢huan的de话huà，就jiù别bié吃chī了le。
If you don’t like it, don’t eat it.
