何必

Why bother with 何必

Structure 何必 + Verb + (呢)?

何必 (hébì) is a rhetorical question meaning "why bother…?, what need is there to…?", implying something isn’t worth it: 何必这么着急? = "why get so worked up?". It expects no answer; it advises against it. It often closes with 呢.
