几乎

Almost with 几乎

Structure 几乎 + Verb / adjective

几乎 (jīhū) means "almost": something that fell just short. 我几乎每天都跑步 = "I run almost every day"; 他几乎没睡觉 = "he hardly slept". It goes before the verb. It pairs often with 都 (几乎都) and with negation (几乎不/没).

Examples

  • měitiāndōupǎo

    I run almost every day.

  • méishuìjiào

    He hardly slept.

  • jiàoshìméiyǒurén

    There’s almost no one in the classroom.
