Still (formal) with 仍然

Structure 仍然 + Verb / adjective

仍然 (réngrán) is "still / yet", a more formal or written version of 还: it shows something REMAINS the same despite time or events. 他仍然不明白 = "he still doesn’t get it". It goes before the verb. The short form 仍 also exists.

Examples

他tā仍réng然rán不bù明míng白bai。
He still doesn’t understand.
很hěn晚wǎn了le，他tā仍réng然rán在zài工gōng作zuò。
It’s late and he’s still working.
我wǒ仍réng然rán记jì得de那nà天tiān。
I still remember that day.
