Turning into with verb + 成

Structure Verb + 成 + result

成 (chéng) after the verb marks WHAT something becomes or is turned into: 翻译成中文 = "translate INTO Chinese"; 水变成了冰 = "the water turned into ice". It’s a result complement specialized in changes and transformations; what follows 成 is the end result.

Examples

请qǐng把bǎ这zhè句jù话huà翻fān译yì成chéng中zhōng文wén。
Please translate this sentence into Chinese.
水shuǐ变biàn成chéng了le冰bīng。
The water turned into ice.
老lǎo师shī把bǎ我wǒ们men分fēn成chéng两liǎng组zǔ。
The teacher split us into two groups.
