Actually with 其实

Structure 其实 + what really happens

其实 (qíshí) means "actually, in fact" and usually introduces a point that corrects an impression: 看起来很难，其实很简单 = "it looks hard, but it’s actually easy". It goes at the start of the sentence or after the subject. It clarifies the real situation.

Examples

其qí实shí我wǒ不bù喜xǐ欢huan咖kā啡fēi。
Actually, I don’t like coffee.
看kàn起qǐ来lái很hěn难nán，其qí实shí很hěn简jiǎn单dān。
It looks hard, but it’s actually easy.
其qí实shí他tā是shì对duì的de。
Actually, he’s right.
