Have no choice but with 只好

Structure (situation)，只好 + the only way out

只好 (zhǐhǎo) means "have no choice but to": given a situation, you take the only option left, even if it’s not ideal. 没有公交车，我只好走路 = "there was no bus, so I had no choice but to walk". It goes before the verb of the forced solution.

Examples

没méi有yǒu公gōng交jiāo车chē，我wǒ只zhǐ好hǎo走zǒu路lù。
There was no bus, so I had to walk.
商shāng店diàn关guān门mén了le，我wǒ只zhǐ好hǎo明míng天tiān再zài来lái。
The shop was closed, so I had to come back tomorrow.
票piào卖mài完wán了le，我wǒ们men只zhǐ好hǎo回huí家jiā。
The tickets sold out, so we had to go home.
