HSK 4 Adverbs

逐渐 / 渐渐

Gradually with 逐渐/渐渐

Structure 逐渐 / 渐渐 + change

逐渐 (zhújiàn) and 渐渐 (jiànjiàn) mean "gradually, little by little", for a slow, progressive change: 天气逐渐冷了 = "the weather is gradually getting cold". They go before the verb and almost always describe an evolution (often closing with 了). 渐渐 is a bit more colloquial.

Levels are indicative: they follow the standard Chinese Grammar Wiki (AllSet Learning) progression, not an official HSK 3.0 mapping. We never assign levels by eye.
