Either… or… (要么…要么…)

Structure 要么 + A，要么 + B

要么…要么… (yàome… yàome…) lays out two options to choose between: "either A or B". 要么去看电影，要么去公园 = "we’ll either go to the movies or to the park". It’s very colloquial; it resembles 不是…就是…, but that one states a fact ("it’s always one of the two") while 要么…要么… offers a choice.

Examples

要yào么me去qù看kàn电diàn影yǐng，要yào么me去qù公gōng园yuán。
Either we go to the movies, or we go to the park.
你nǐ要yào么me留liú下xià，要yào么me跟gēn我wǒ走zǒu。
Either you stay, or you come with me.
周zhōu末mò要yào么me在zài家jiā休xiū息xi，要yào么me去qù爬pá山shān。
On weekends I either rest at home or go hiking.
