Everything / anyone that… (凡是…都…)

Structure 凡是 + the whole group，都 + the same for all

凡是…都… (fánshì… dōu…) covers a whole group with NO exception: "everything that… / everyone who…". 凡是他说的，我都相信 = "everything he says, I believe". 凡是 opens the full group and 都 confirms the rule holds for each one. It’s somewhat formal; in speech 都 alone often suffices.

Examples

凡fán是shì他tā说shuō的de，我wǒ都dōu相xiāng信xìn。
Everything he says, I believe.
凡fán是shì来lái过guò的de人rén，都dōu说shuō好hǎo。
Everyone who has been here says it’s good.
凡fán是shì重zhòng要yào的de事shì，都dōu要yào写xiě下xià来lái。
Anything important should be written down.
