Structure 据悉／据称／据报道，+ news

These are fixed source phrases of journalistic prose, where 据 (jù, "according to") fuses with a verb of reporting. 据悉 = "it is learned / reportedly" (a vague but reliable source); 据称 = "it is claimed" (someone says so, without vouching for it); 据报道 = "according to reports"; 据调查 / 据统计 = "according to the survey / statistics". They open the sentence and are set off by a comma. Compared with the bare 据 of HSK 5 (据我所知 = "as far as I know"), here the combination is lexicalized and reads like a headline or news dispatch.

据jù报bào道dào，事shì故gù已yǐ造zào成chéng多duō人rén受shòu伤shāng。
According to reports, the accident has left several people injured.

It is claimed that the two sides have already agreed on the price.
据jù调diào查chá，市shì场chǎng需xū求qiú正zhèng在zài迅xùn速sù增zēng长zhǎng。
According to the survey, market demand is growing fast.
