Whether… or…, it makes no difference (也罢/也好)

Structure A + 也罢/也好，B + 也罢/也好，(都/反正) + result

…也罢，…也罢 / …也好，…也好 lists alternatives to say the outcome is the same: "whether… or…, it makes no difference". 成也罢，败也罢，他都坦然 = "win or lose, he takes it calmly". It conveys indifference or resignation toward any of the options, which often close with 都 or 反正. 也罢 (yěbà) is more literary and resigned; 也好 (yěhǎo) is more colloquial, closer to "fine either way".

Examples

成chéng也yě罢bà，败bài也yě罢bà，他tā都dōu坦tǎn然rán面miàn对duì。
Whether he succeeds or fails, he faces it calmly.
去qù也yě好hǎo，不bù去qù也yě好hǎo，随suí你nǐ的de便biàn。
Go or don't go, suit yourself; it's all the same.
信xìn也yě罢bà，不bù信xìn也yě罢bà，事shì实shí就jiù摆bǎi在zài那nà里lǐ。
