Above / below / within (以上/以下/以内)

Structure figure + 以上 / 以下 / 以内

After a figure, these suffixes set a threshold or limit. 以上 = "(that figure) and up, from… on": 三十岁以上 = "thirty years old and over". 以下 = "(that figure) and below, up to": 六岁以下 = "under six". 以内 = "within, not exceeding": 三天以内 = "within three days". In speech 三十岁以上 is enough, but using these to set legal limits, requirements or deadlines in a document is formal, administrative register. By convention, 以上 and 以下 usually INCLUDE the reference figure.

Examples

本běn岗gǎng位wèi要yāo求qiú三sān年nián以yǐ上shàng工gōng作zuò经jīng验yàn。
This position requires three or more years of work experience.
申shēn请qǐng人rén须xū在zài六liù十shí岁suì以yǐ下xià。
Applicants must be sixty years of age or under.
请qǐng于yú三sān天tiān以yǐ内nèi提tí交jiāo相xiāng关guān材cái料liào。
Please submit the relevant documents within three days.
成chéng绩jì在zài六liù十shí分fēn以yǐ下xià视shì为wéi不bù及jí格gé。
Scores of sixty points or below count as a fail.
