HSK 6 Connectors & compound sentences

正因为 … 才 / 所以 …

It is precisely because… that… (正因为…才)

Structure 正因为 + emphasized cause,才 / 所以 + effect

正因为…才… (zhèng yīnwèi… cái…) strengthens the cause with 正 («precisely, exactly»): not just any reason, but that one and only that one produces the effect. The closing 才 stresses that the result holds only because of that cause: 正因为难,才更值得去做 = «precisely because it's hard, that's why it's all the more worth doing». Against plain 因为…所以… (HSK 2), 正 adds emphasis and contrast, often against what the listener would expect. It can also close with 所以 when 才's exclusivity nuance isn't needed.
