Such as… and the like (诸如…之类)

Structure 诸如 + example(s) + 之类（／等）+ noun

诸如…之类 (zhūrú… zhīlèi) is the formal way to list examples and round them off with an «…and the like»: 诸如 opens the list and 之类 (or 等) closes it, implying the enumeration is not exhaustive. It belongs to essay and press register, where it replaces colloquial 什么的. The set phrase 诸如此类 («things of this kind») is very common, gathering up what was just said: 诸如此类的问题层出不穷 = «problems of this kind crop up endlessly».
