HSK 2 Adjectives

有点儿 / 一点儿

A little: 有点儿 vs 一点儿

Structure 有点儿 + adjective · adjective + 一点儿

Both mean "a little", but they are NOT interchangeable. 有点儿 goes BEFORE the adjective and almost always sounds like a complaint or something unwanted: 有点儿贵 = "it’s a bit expensive". 一点儿 goes AFTER the adjective and is used to request or compare: 便宜一点儿 = "a bit cheaper". Tip: 有点儿 = "(it’s) a bit…"; adj + 一点儿 = "a bit more…".
