Hard to avoid / bound to (难免)

Structure 难免 + (会) + undesirable situation

难免 (nánmiǎn, "hard to avoid") says something is almost inevitable, usually something undesirable: 第一次做饭，难免会出错 = "the first time you cook, mistakes are bound to happen". It often takes 会 before the verb. It’s used to excuse or normalize a slip: "that was to be expected".

Examples

第dì一yī次cì做zuò饭fàn，难nán免miǎn会huì出chū错cuò。
The first time you cook, mistakes are bound to happen.
刚gāng来lái的de时shí候hou，难nán免miǎn想xiǎng家jiā。
When you’ve just arrived, it’s natural to feel homesick.
人rén多duō的de地dì方fang，难nán免miǎn有yǒu点diǎn乱luàn。
Where there are lots of people, it’s bound to be a bit chaotic.
