偏偏

Of all things / just so happens (偏偏)

Structure 偏偏 + fact that goes against expectation

偏偏 (piānpiān) expresses that things turned out exactly opposite to what was wanted or expected, often with annoyance: "of all things… / just my luck…". 我想去,偏偏下起了大雨 = "I really wanted to go, and of course it started pouring". It also marks going against everyone else: 大家都同意,偏偏他反对 = "everyone agreed, and he, of all people, objected".
