HSK 6 Connectors & compound sentences

正如 … 所 …(那样)/ 一如

Just as… (as someone put it) (正如…所)

Structure 正如 + source + 所 + verb(那样),+ argument

正如…所… (zhèngrú… suǒ…) brings in a quotation, an authority, or a shared truth that backs up the claim to come: "just as… noted / as the saying goes…". The 所 sits before a verb of speech or judgement (言, 说, 述, 预料…), and the clause often closes with 那样 or 一样. It belongs to essays and argumentative prose, a notch above the 正如…一样 already seen at HSK 5. Equally formal variants: 诚如 (even more emphatic and bookish) and 一如 (especially in the set phrase 一如既往, "as ever, unchanged").
